CREATE ART THAT YOU LIKE - WITH CONVICTION!
We’re already at the end of Week 4 of my online course, Create Collections, and the artwork is exceptional. The diversity of styles and techniques is inspiring.
In my classes, I’ll show you that you don’t have to subscribe to a particular style or way of working to be successful. You can be you and know that what you like isn’t ‘wrong’.
When you sit down at your desk are you motivated by mastering compound paths in Illustrator - or are you wondering what effects you can create with masking fluid, ink and a nib pen?
Maybe you’ve painted some flowers, love how the pink bleeds into the orange, and now want to see how it would look on a flat ground in Photoshop.
What about the iPad? Who isn’t enchanted with the magic of drawing right into the screen?
Aside from your tools, what else do you like - crisp, contrasting shapes or soft, overlapping layers? Spontaneous, genstural brushstrokes or realistic depictions? Earth tones or candy brights? Do you love purple or hate it? How about chartreuse? And what’s your preferred approach? Do you sketch every detail beforehand, knowing exactly what’s going where - or slap it together and rejoice in the happy accidents?
You’re unique, you have your own taste and you don’t need to be someone else, wear different hats and please everyone. In fact, if you try and please everyone, you’ll probably end up pleasing no-one.
I want to help you understand what you like, trust your own judgement and create the art that you want to create - with conviction!
